Description | Got double warning: 1. Charging system warning light 2. Catalyst overheating warning light Tested before alternator replaced: discharged battery made it off. alternator has pins: W "Sense" fused 7.5A (under hood) to battery + R-L "IG" fused 7.5A to shift lock relay and combination meter from IG2 +12V source Y-B "Lamp" to panel W thick = B+ (fused 100A to battery) | ||||

found damaged sensor near catalytic exhaust need replace 18491 FLANGE, THERMOSENSOR INLET /18491-63010 89425 SENSOR, EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE /89425-19435 (SERA01 SERA02) /89425-19495 (SERA03) 17400 CONVERTER ASSY, W/CATALYST /18450-16240 (same EL44 EL54) similar compatible /18450-11130 (EL41 EL43) also damaged ring gasket - noise /90430-08252 Gasket(for catalytic converter sensor guide) |

Wiring: engine control computer 16P-11 is EGW - Catalytic converter temperature warning light (on combination meter) up to 3.3V = ON (short Cco – E1 on diagnosis); OFF 10-14V 16P-3 CCo - output to DIAGNOSIS connector under hood; ? 4.0V-5.5V For check this sensor lamp circuit need to put ECU GR-B (gray with black) wire to GND when IG key is ON. Panel must show only this one light... |

89465-10020 Sensor oxygen (located at front on manifold 89465) test also with replacement , wiring is damaged here. |

After replacememnt 2019 of rear sensor (exhaust) error indication is still on , try reset computer |

Found additional wire soldered to alternator Y-B terminal and goes to alarm. Temp remove it. Alternator Y-B is a negative signal to combination meter charge warning light - it is a problem here... measured level near 0.5V on running something like +12V expected here . it has +12V from ignition switch IG2 by B-R line (always powered when ON key position). These lamps are linked by diode (check), so that alternator may cause this issue... |
