Summary0000201: Dashboard indication = battery + overheating on EXY10
DescriptionGot double warning:
1. Charging system warning light
2. Catalyst overheating warning light

Tested before alternator replaced: discharged battery made it off.

alternator has pins:
A00) White thick = B+ (fused 80A to battery) main charging and power delivery terminal (output)
separate screw terminal
A01) White thin "Sense" : fused 7.5A (under hood) to battery "+12" terminal : monitoring (input)
located in connector middle near locker
A02) Y-B "Lamp" to panel, supply negative GND to lamp after diode (output) in case of problem... normal operation "+12V or nothing" output, that's why diode protects reverse to IG2
A03) R-L "IG" fused 7.5A to IG1 key lock and shift lock relay (unlocking transmission selector) and combination meter from IG1 +12V source, must turn on regulator (input)

found damaged sensor near catalytic exhaust
need replace

18491 FLANGE, THERMOSENSOR INLET /18491-63010
89425 SENSOR, EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE /89425-19435 (SERA01 SERA02) /89425-19495 (SERA03)

17400 CONVERTER ASSY, W/CATALYST /18450-16240 (same EL44 EL54)
similar compatible /18450-11130 (EL41 EL43)

also damaged ring gasket - noise /90430-08252 Gasket(for catalytic converter sensor guide)

Wiring:
engine control computer
16P-11 is
EGW - Catalytic converter temperature warning light (on combination meter)
up to 3.3V = ON (short Cco – E1 on diagnosis); OFF 10-14V

16P-3 CCo - output to DIAGNOSIS connector under hood; ? 4.0V-5.5V

For check this sensor lamp circuit need to put ECU GR-B (gray with black) wire to GND when IG key is ON. Panel must show only this one light...

Measure exhaust oxygen "rich or poor mixture"
/89465-10020
Sensor oxygen ZrO2 (located at front on exhaustvmanifold "89465")
has only one signal wire and GND body
wrench 22 mm (or special tool) used
test also with replacement , wiring is damaged here: test wiring
test voltage on sensor to be on running engine 0.1V-0.9V , in case stopped engine "ON" ingnition switch must be =0.5V , but has 0 V (!) problem, may be burned track in ECU

but the main issue related "catalitic converter overheating lamp" should not affected by this oxy sensor electric chain

After replacememnt 2019 of rear sensor (exhaust temperature sensor after catalityc conerter) error indication is still on ,

2024: pay special attention to alternator terminal "S"=sense wiring integrity, bad contact or cut suspected
this white wire comes from main fuse-relay box, it has 7.5A fuse to battery

Found additional wire soldered to alternator Y-B terminal and goes to alarm. Temp remove it.
Alternator Y-B is a negative signal to combination meter charge warning light - (connector B10)
it is a problem here... measured level near 0.5V on running
 something like +12V expected here .
it has +12V from ignition switch IG2 by B-R line (always powered when ON key position) from AM2 fused line
and should not get GND from alternator "L"=light terminal Y-B line (protected reverse by diode).

These lamps are linked by diode (check), so that alternator may cause this issue...
but catalitic converter signal cannot light both, until diode works properly...
check diode in meter
-> problem is alternator wiring or inside IC
