Summary0000226: Upgrade UPS APC 350 to battery charger
DescriptionTransformer in APC CS 350 (step-up one, works in inverter mode) seems to have 3 coils:
coil 1:
xfmr double pin connecor goes to relay 68-12-2CE 12V 175 Ohm (BLK+WHT) - this is high voltage 230V AC output;
coil 2:
BLU wire goes to PHP 54N06T MOSFET (Q28) Drain, which Source goes to battery (-) , and low-voltage part
BRN wire goes to PHP 54N06T MOSFET (Q14) Drain, which Source goes to battery (-)
coil 3:
BLK goes to battery (+) fuse
RED goes to F1010E IR Power MOSFET drain and heatsink, which Source goes to battery (-)
WHT goes to F1010E IR Power MOSFET drain and heatsink, which Source goes to battery (-) equal to GND

Tested 5A XL4015 DC-DC adjustable charger module
Used 9Ah lead-acid battery
With 24V DC input have overheat of XL4015E1 on board , in cace output current above 1A

Car battery 63Ah capacity charge from 0V (0Ah rest) will take
1.0 A = 63 h
0.5 A = 126 h (about a week)

Tested battery recovery method with reverse polarity applied

Opposite charge happened up to 11V

Used CC limit 0.5A preventing overheat
Used 14.4V output (measured after extra diode)
